Here he is in Paris. Was touched that Beaton sent his chauffeur and car to take them to the station. He will see in the future what sort of person he is. He is one of the most affectionate friends and his thoughts are always following his friends. Beaton is sure that he is a hard rock of stone. If he only knew how often he thinks of him. Discusses how he would like to help Beaton. Insists he does not depend on anyone and is always analysing the words and actions of others. Begs Beaton not to close his heart to him. "You will never find an other [sic] Pavlik". This is all he can say for the moment.
