It was a friend's funeral today. Thought of Beaton all day long and missed him more than ever. Knows how devoted he was to him and how much his friendship meant to him. His death was so sudden although he had not been well for some time. Discusses the service. They have lost a great friend, "a truly generous and kind soul". Hopes he knew how attached they were to him when he was alive. Loves Beaton very much.
