Scope and content
Adored Beaton's letter - a really comprehensive survey of the London season. Wishes he would write much oftener. Just now she is "swamped" by relations. Her sister acts as hostess as "she sees that I am quite incapable of holding my own in good society". After the 24th she is going to pay some visits. At the end of September she is going to Ireland "for months and months and months". Beaton's "Book of Beauty" sounds very good. Suggests that he get it out before Christmas. Discusses the sort of introduction he could write. They never played "Hay Fever" after all, but played a "farcical little piece". Has got a very amusing idea for her next book. Has heard Rex is coming back.
