Scope and content

Was very pleased to receive his letter. Is sad to think he never spends the "happy yule-tide season" in England. They are going to have a big Christmas tree. Is going to Paris for a week. Is returning to England in the New Year. Is having a happy weekend. Is building a gothic stage at the end of the gallery. All the tickets are sold. The choir of angels are singing beautifully. Sylvie has broken up with her fiance but has decided never to mention this as everyone has had enough. Liza is well and the baby will be christened on the 7th. There will be a supper-party at Claridge's the night after. Gives Beaton some gossip about their friends. Peter has left London for Paris. He has supposedly made up his mind to take a house or flat in Paris instead of London. Will invite Beaton and Peter to her nice new flat this summer. Asks Beaton about his future plans. The Admiral has been an enormous success. Sends her love.
