Hopes Barbara got home from Cardiff without snow. They have had 50 inches of rain since January. The Urbans in the Villa are 'a great help and comfort'. Is currently in the Dominican Hospital in Santa Cruz, getting ready for surgery the next day. It is 'presumably just some repair work', and hope to be home in a week. Wonders if FH has headed to the USA, and if so, where to; the East is snowed in. Postscript dated 13 Feb.: had surgery on 14 Feb., but was kept 'semi-doped' until this morning. Hopes to go home on 19 Feb., 'if all continues well'.
