Scope and content
Reports that his own letter in the 'Times' seems to have rescued the situation and he has had many messages about it. Warns Glover that he is being cast as a 'modernist prig' and it is damaging the cause of theological progress with which he is closely associated. Advises Glover to mend his image. Advises Glover to reexamine Spurgeon. Points out that many of Spurgeon's followers, including Cuff, Carlile, and Douglas Brown, have done stalwart work in difficult parishes. Mentions a phone conversation with Percy Evans, who was upset by Glover's article.
