Expresses concern that the Schwartz situation may have unfortunate repercussions for the congress, though thinks that if the congress goes ahead it must be held at Harvard, as visa requirements would be no less strict in Canada. Regrets that political issues may prevent individuals attending, but does not want the congress to get involved in politics. Is uncertain whether taking the Schwartz question to the National Committee is wise, as fears the arguments are naive and will be unproductive. If the congress is the only concern, not Schwartz's invitation to Chicago, then Garret Berkhoff, chair of the organising committee is the person to contact.
