He asks Crook to read the script of the new opera that he is composing. (A one page note to Crook from P.Monroe is attached, dated 16/3/2000, thanking him for allowing him to see the copy of Johnson's book for Musica Scotica). Johnson mentions that he has been invited to lunch with the Duke of Buccleuch.
