Scope and content

Has not been in contact with JWW for sometime so aims to remedy the situation. Gives a brief resume of his current situation, his lectures on 'primitive history', his lack of ambition regarding his work as a lawyer and the lack of interest in his hobby of history. Discusses the plans of their acquaintance, Townsend, to retire early. Has read an account of JWW's work in Blackburn and is very complimentary of the 'useful work'. Has also read some correspondence regarding religious discussions which JWW has had and makes some criticisms.
