Scope and content

Thanks Gough for his good words regarding GA's article on a Roman Milliary. Declares that he has abandoned the project due to the inability to have simple questions answered concerning the locale. Thinks that a piece contending that Falconier's medal is a fake is too long for Archaeologia. Discusses the work of Mr Bryant with regard to the medal and how he has used this information in his piece. Would have liked to finish his article on the Foss as it would clear up mistakes made by other authors as to the siting of ancient sites. Gives news of Sir John Cullum and asks for news of Mr Lort. Discusses an article in England's Gazetteor, 1775, regarding Roman roads and hopes he could get the route of the Foss Way surveyed to ascertain distances between milestones. Is looking forward to the President's speech, which are always good, though GA suggests that a few improvements could be made.
