Marr of Trinity Hall, Cambridge ('From one full back to another') and by J.W. Hele of Hertford College, Oxford. The reverse features the O.U.R.F.C. fixtures for 1944–1945. Accompanied by a photograph of the match in progress; commentary on the reverse of the photo records a 3–3 draw and describes what is happening in the scene: 'A lineout: David (left wing) approaching the fray. Lyn Wallace (hooker) half-obscured. Myself and John Bance jumping. Brian preparing for his effort. Eric, Gordon and Michael moving up in support. Jimmy (scrum ½), awaiting the ball. Refferee [sic] in obstructive position.'
