Memorandum that Thomas Middleton hathe received of your Mastership [Nicholas Metcalfe] from the feast of the Purification of our Lady [2 February] unto the Cristenmas [Christmas] next after ensuing xlvij s. ij d. ut patet per librum [as is clear from the book] and his levery [livery].
The said Thomas hath reseyved this yeare 1522-1523 of his wages as aperith by my boke. First his levery and xj s. ix d. for lynyn [linen] iij s. j d., for making xvj d. , for a aprie of botis [boots] to hym ij s. iiij d., a cap viij d. Item geven to hym the xxj day of January in polls v s. Item to sole his botes iiij d.
