Archivist's note

Originally there were 8 volumes, but many of these were damaged by mould in New Court Cellars and were not transferred to the new College Archive Centre in the School of Pythagoras in 2014. Only the first two volumes were moved, formerly catalogued as JB12/1-2.

The previous record on Cantab suggests that the following items, in no particular order, were included in the original 8 ledgers:

1) Tutorial Bursar's Account, (Lent 1928-Michaelmas 1937)
2) wages analysis 1959-62,
3) porters, shoeblacks and maintenance staff, appointments and service 1898-1937,
4) coal issues 1942,
5) electric light accounts 1920-29,
6) property lettings 1967-70,
7) Purchase account for new plant in Kitchen following alterations, 1949 ; choral and organ studentship candidates' meals 1972-94 (names); crockery bought from Barrett & son 1945-51
8) Fees for first MB and other exams, 1955-61.
