Note
The headings vary with administrative developments in the College and University, but those set out in scholars' butler's directions 1835 (SJAR/3/1/2/1 ) are: number of days, commons, scholarships, names of men, sizings (bread, cheese), weekly charge (W.C. in later books), monthly detriments (charge for cost of fuel, utensils, wages, levied by junior bursar, equivalent to fellows' 'retro' charge; in 1860 includes. gas, stationery, furniture and repairs as well), letters, chapel fines, public library and paving tax (UCT in later accounts), kettles.
