- Roberts who is mentioned in this letter as a previous lessee, held a lease in 1529 (see Bakery Mayor p. 347) his executor was given a general acquittance in 1542 (ibid p. 362). This would sugges that the date of the letter is 1541 and that it is not to Metcalfe but to John Taylor.
