Scope and content
Terrier of St John's College farm, called Hugh Hare's, in St Peter's parish near the castle in Cambridge, made by John Taylor, Dean of Lincoln and Master of St John's, John Perry, President of Bene't College, Osward Archer, servant to the Master of Clare Hall, John Barnes, John Munsey, John Woolward and Hugh Hare, all of Cambridge, John Cole, John Stephens, William Stephens and Nicholas Anger, all of Coton.
Also includes a letter from the Registry dated 2 March 1886:
Dear Sir, I send you the terrar [sic] in question for your Muniment Room. I shall be glad to have a receipt for it.
It has been here certainly since 1758, as it is in Caryl's index. It may possibly have been brought to the Registry by John Taylor, the Editor of Demosthenes and Lycias his precedecessor, as I rather think he was one time Bursar of St John's College.
Be good enough to send me Mr. R.M. Parke's direction, as I cannot place him on my list without that.
Yours very faithfully,
H.R. Luard.
