Grant by Thomas, son of Clemencia de Chatbeham, to John Surturn, for his homage and service, of all the right and claim which he or his heirs might have in three acres of land which Thomas bought of lord Walter de la Rude in Curwurthe, lying between the land of Walter, the high road to Bromhale [Broomhall], and in length from east to west. To be held by him and his assigns, with the exception of a religious house, at a yearly rent of one penny at the Feast of St Martin for all secular demands except the service of the King and a rent of ten pence to Walter de la Rude.
