Scope and content
A copy of the 1849 Statutes, written on paper, purchased by the College on 17 June 1948 for the sum of £5 from Mrs Marie Fuller. It is a duplicate of the copy written on parchment, and referred to in the preamble (of said copy) and like the vellum copy is signed by Queen Victoria at the beginning of the statutes and at their conclusion; but unlike the parchment copy, the Great Seal is not attached and it
does not bear the £30 duty stamp. An explanatory letter is also attached.

Note
The Conclusion Books record the petition to the Queen to sanction and confirm College Statutes (entry 20 Jan 1848), and that the statutes are sanctioned (entry 5 May 1849); but they do not record the number of copies of the sanctioned statutes received.
