Note
Established in 1876, the Eagles Club was initially a lawn tennis society, limited to 40 members. By the early 1890s, it had become more of a social group and accepted members from other College sports teams, although membership of the Eagles was denied to non-Johnians, which in turn led to the foundation of the university-wide Hawks’ Club in the 1870s. Today, the Eagles Club is a society for the College's elite sportsmen, matched by the Flamingos, a partner society for the College's elite sportswomen.
Earlier records belonging to the Eagles Club have been lost.
