Note
Inside Volume 1 the frontispiece reads: This volume bound in 1877, contains the statutes of St John's College given by Bishop Fisher in 1530, and by Hen. VIII in 1545. The former code had the seal (broken) pendant from a blue ribbon; seal and ribbon are now preserved in a little square box covered with red morroco [see 15/OS]. In the margin of the statutes of 1545 will be found the changes introduced (chiefly in matters of religion and studies) by King Edward's visitor. Both codes, with the notes, were printed in 1859.
