History
Smith was born in Doncaster in 1871 and attended the local grammar school. He was admitted to St John's College in 1889, graduating BA in 1892. Following ordination, Smith served as Curate of St Philip's, Dalston (1895-1903), Curate of St John's, Hackney (1903-7), Vicar of St Peter's, Hornsey (1907-25), Vicar of Willesden (1925-37), and Vicar of St Mary Abbots, Kensington (1937-48). He was also appointed Prebendary of St Paul's Cathedral in 1935. Smith was the joint editor of 'The Sundays of Man's Life'. He married Dora Cox in 1903, and died at Littlehampton, Sussex, in 1952.
