Comprises interesting descriptions of travels around Europe and the United Kingdom undertaken by JWW and his friends, discussions of St John's College life and the subsequent experiences of JWW's fellow Johnians, and material concerning JWW's life as chaplain to the Archbishop of Canterbury.and as Vicar of Blackburn. Includes interesting reflections and observations on political matters and contemporary theological debates. Also included are a few miscellaneous travel documents.

Correspondence of JWC discussing theological matters and details of his church work and life in Natal; a notebook containing copies of letters sent to JWC on theological matters; correspondence arising from the visit of the Reverend James D La Touche to Natal in support of the work of JWC. Material compiled by C. W. Phillips and Bromwich for 'The Fenland in Roman Times' (London, 1970). Includes a typescript draft of the book with original photographs and numerous notes concerning the material.

The majority of this collection is by J. E. Marr. The papers relating to J. E. Marr are a collection of various items from his academic career and personal life. They contain: personal photo albums; photo albums of field trips; scrapbooks; geological pamphlets both by and sent to J. E. Marr; obituaries; sketches; and maps. The papers relating to F. A. Marr contain: photo albums, loose photos, and a file of correspondence and legal documents in relation to his parents' estates.

The papers comprise Adams's correspondence, notes and diaries, correspondence after his death, transcripts of correspondence and papers made for Donald MacAlister, biographical and miscellaneous material.

The collection consists of his letters to his close friend, Cecily Mary Severne (nee Burdon-Muller) from 1930 to 1958, plus some miscellaneous papers.
