Part of Papers of Lyn Newman
Thanks Lyn for the snowdrops and for the garden that she and Nancy Blackburn planted around Edwin's grave. Believes that H. H. [Hamish Hamilton] will be interested in Lyn's book [Alison Cairns] and asserts that the Cairns were not first and foremost Presbyterians but interesting people. Reports that her book of ballads published soon with the Hogarth Press, and Day Lewis is visiting her to check the cuts she has made. Describes her memoirs and her treatment of Edwin Muir in them. Congratulates her on having a pleasant daughter-in-law in Edna. Mentions that her health is improving.
