The collection comprises printed works by and about Mallarmé. Some of the volumes contain inscriptions by Mallarmé and Brennan. One volume contains letters to Brennan from Mallarmé, S.C. Leconte, A.W. Verrall and G.C. Toussaint. The collection also includes a volume of Mallarmé's verses written out by Brennan.

Has spent last three years in Melanesia then in Paris. Has spoken of Brennan to Mallarmé. Hopes to see Brennan when he goes to Sydney at end of year.
