Has had an amusing letter from Anita saying she was going to try to persuade Beaton to write a one-man show and get John Gielgud and Douglas Fairbanks read it. Would personally rather read Beaton's memoirs in diary form rather than have someone else read them. Had great fun at the luncheon, meeting many old friends with whom she had lost touch. Harold Macmillan made an enchanting speech. Reminisces about 60 years ago. Discusses what happened at the luncheon. Some people there remembered her performances from many years ago. The house is a "dream" in spite of being closed for so long. Has no time in the country to see anyone. Has heard that Beaton's house is "fascinating" and full of wonderful pictures. Expects Anita Loos to call on her soon. They are sending Beaton "a most heavenly friend". Thinks they will have a great deal to say to each other. Asks Beaton to give her love to his mother.
