Would have given up all of France to come to Beaton's party for the Lunts. Expresses happiness at Beaton's invitation. Beaton did not miss much in not having her there. Has been with Laurian and her French husband, Pierre to see 800 acres of water that he has bought in the middle of France. They are going to build a house out of three old barns. Cathleen left for Toronto yesterday with "The Chalk Garden". Was too afraid to go. Wishes she had seen Beaton, but feels in some ways it is better to think of him. Cannot write at the moment. Went to say goodbye to the Lunts on Friday.
Typescript letter from Jim to Beaton's secretary, Eileen Hose.
