Lincoln writes that he has, for several years, been well settled in London, working as a merchant. However, due to inaction, he will quit the city and transfer to Spain, where he intends to remain for the rest of his life. A certificate would be advantageous for him, since it would allow Lincoln to be formally recognised as a member of a good and noble family. He asks that his Majesty consider the petitioner on account of his known loyalty to him.
