Returns to Ghana in the autumn; failed to get funds for final season on Asante project; has money from Haycock fund to help finish the Meroe report. Publication becoming a problem; University has cut off entire subsidy to University Press; one of his Occasional Paper series (A Gonja Miscellany) caught halfway through; asks if the Africa series with BAR might take his Asante project report. Asks for more information on excavations at Gao by someone from Cambridge he's not heard of.
