1920s correspondence

Letters sent to WHW during the 1920s, mostly concerning P.B. Shelley. Includes one incomplete draft letter, and a quarterly admission ticket to Cambridge University Library valid for the second quarter of 1925. Correspondents include R.C. Wilton, A. Cowley, John and Myles Dillon, Grace Guiney, Thomas Wise, and Helen McCain.

Artefacts

A pair of ceramic candlesticks with the St John's College crest, dating from WHW's time as a student in Cambridge.

Blank postcards

Fourteen postcards, plus two photographic cards depicting Queen Alexandria [sic] when Princess of Wales and Sheik Mohamet Ibrahim. The postcards vary in subject: an Easter greetings card, a reproduction of an artwork, views of buildings, and historical figures. None is dated, though the two photographs could be circa 1880.

Cambridge exhibition

Letter from St John's confirming WHW's exhibition of £30 for two years; postcard from WHW's father congratulating him on the exhibition; letter to WHW's father from the Head of Lavender Hill School congratulating him on his son's success; congratulatory card with unidentified signature.

Cambridge student life

Material relating to WHW's time as a student in Cambridge. Includes: Beecham's photo-folio of Cambridge views; printed regulations of the CU Rifle Volunteers; printed rules of the Cambridge Church Society; St John's College Theological Society term card for Lent 1908; CU Fabian Society term card for Lent 1909; WHW's Cambridge pocket diary for 1907-08; a printed notice of examination fees; a printed notice of St John's College Ball 1909; two receipts for payments received by St John's College in 1906 and 1910; eight termly College bills from Michaelmas 1906 to Easter 1909 (Michaelmas 1909 is lacking).

Campion House

Material relating to WHW's teaching post at Campion House, Osterley. Includes a notebook containing the signatures of those in each set taught from 1939-40 to 1949-50; 2 group photographs, 1 dated 1949; two letters from Rev. Clement Tigar on the death of WHW, together with his hand-written obituary for the Catholic press.
