Has read Maltby, Matthews and Moffet 'fairly carefully' and is 'impressed by the number of cases where they find a galaxy located at the centroid of two strong components of the radio source'. Discusses this idea, and asks that if FH wants to include a paragraph about it in their article in Nature, he should send such a paragraph to the editor.

His schedule is starting to tighten over the summer because of the new APS and NAS business. May be able to come to Dockray for 'a day or so' between 7 and 12 July, but FH should not arrange his plans to fit. Will see FH around 13 July in Venice/Padua.

Recommends publishing in the Annals of modern physics. Leaves for India on 5 Nov. Relates recent baseball results.

The retirement party was 'fun'. Jesse 'roasted' him 'not so tenderly', but finished with FH's note, which 'restored the balance considerably'. Has never 'been retiring' and doesn't 'intend to be retiring now'.

Is sorry to have to inform FH that he has not been re-elected a member of the Royal Astronomical Society Club. This is partly because some people were not convinced that this is what FH wanted. It would still be possible for FH to be elected if he made it clear that this was his wish. He is anyway welcome as President of the Society to the privileges that the Club gives to Presidents who are not Club members.

Sends FH part three of 'The new astronomical cosmology', and hopes to send him 'The moon puzzle solution', 'Nature's telescope' and 'Nature's microscope' at a later date. Explains how 'The new astronomical cosmology' shows that 'Steady-State is not only saved - but wins!'. He did not work his view himself; it was 'revealed' to him by God many years ago, and he 'simply worked out a few details'. Comments on an article by FH about ice ages, and suggests that ice ages might be caused by 'disturbance' in the sun.

Will not be in New York between 11 and 15 Jan., so will not be able to see FH. However, his colleague Robert S. Morison would be glad to talk to FH.

Thanks FH for his letter of 29 Jan. Asks for more information about the situation, FH's plans to visit Caltech during 1958, the necessity of a separate trip to Boston, and the precise costs involved.

The date of 6 June 1973 would be satisfactory for FH's lecture. He does not yet need to supply a title.
