Thanks FH for the loan of the enclosed papers (presumably (40/1/2-40/1/6), which he has copied to appropriate members of staff. Is glad to hear that Barbara Hoyle has recovered from 'the effects of your pungent, but happily localised, fire'. Will soon receive the data on the natural activity of Wastwater from BNFL.

FH 'really came up trumps' with his after-dinner speech at the end of their International Conference on Post-Irradiation Examination at Grange[-over-Sands] the previous week. Also thanks Barbara Hoyle and FH's son and daughter-in-law 'for the very real pleasure of their company'. Will send FH one or two photographs in due course. FH and his family are very welcome to visit Windscale Nuclear Laboratories again.
