Beaton was marvellous. Thought it was ridiculous for BBC1 and ITV to run Beaon and Indira Gandhi against each other. Cyril rang this morning. Thought it was Beaton, but Cyril didn't mind. Beaton's hats were 'sublime'. Went to bed and rang up all her friends and Laurian. It was better than being at a party.
