Paul Grant to receive from the College £150 due under a bond (item 1) and is granted the power to compound with the College for obtaining for that amount one fellowship for his children and kinsfolk to be placed in successively and forever, in such manner and form as Grant thinks meet; otherwise to give an acquittance to the College. 3) Letter of attorney: John Thurleston of Hymsworth [Hemsworth], Yorkshire, Master of the Hospital and Free School of Hemsworth, to Brian Browne, 22 August 1572. Brian Browne to receive from St John's College one part of an indenture for the forming of a scholarship in the College and a bond from the College in 200 marks for the performance of the covenants, and to hand the other part of the indenture to the College.
